Position : VP External (Government) Relations – For Coal Mining Business (Energy Sector)
Reports To : President & CEO
Location :
This position would be responsible for to ensure relationship building, influencing public opinion, and local legislative reporting and dealing with sensitive issues pertaining to the project, face of the business, dealing with the government, business peers, and media houses while maintaining a positive image of business and company in the public eye.
Scope of Position:
- Assisting Head of Coal Business in development and implementation of corporate relations strategy for the country.
- Responsible for meeting Government officials for mining permits, influencing legislations etc
- Liaising, monitoring and coordinating existing and new partnerships.
- Establish media outreach and liaison with media houses on behalf of the organization.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with government, semi government and other external (non-media) agencies.
- Oversee documentation for project related government and non-government initiatives as well as transactions.
- Update the project team on government departmental changes and other developments that are likely to have an impact on project development.
- Provide support to Project Head on all aspects of business operations.
- Oversee project-vide administrative function to ensure smooth development of the mining operations.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in the industry at senior level, especially in the areas of corporate relations, external relations, media management and outreach.
- Master‘s Degree (External Relations/Communica
tions/Public Affairs/Business Administration) . - At least 23-24 years in a senior management role in
Indonesia - Broad knowledge of industry/regulatory environment, government agencies, public affairs, local media houses and non-government organizations.
- Excellent understanding of local traditions and customs.
- Good existing network / relationship with business people, law enforcement agencies & ideally political level people.
- Excellent stakeholder management.
- Very high reliability and credibility.
- Coordination ability.
- Cross Cultural sensitivity - ability to work in a multi-cultural team.
- Proficient in negotiation and persuasive skills.
- Fluent in English & Indonesian (native language).
- At least 18 years in a management role within infrastructure industry, of which a minimum of 5 years should be at Executive level.
- Broad knowledge of local industry/regulatory stipulations and standards, finance & accounting procedures, office management and controlling functions.
- Good existing network / relationship with local search firms, resourcing partners, travel houses, hotels and service providers.
- Very high reliability and credibility.
- Organizing and coordination ability.
- Cross Cultural sensitivity - ability to work with a team from
India - Ability to identify and address operational issues and opportunities.
- Proficient in negotiation for dealing with external stakeholders and representatives.
- Fluent in English & Indonesian (native language).
